Pelvic Release

Pelvic Release involves relaxing the fascia (connective tissue) in the pelvis.

The condition of the body’s fascia is influenced by the nervous system, among other factors. Chronic stress (including trauma) triggers sympathetic fight-or-flight responses that lead to chronic muscle tension and tight, stiff fascia. Because the pelvis is closely linked to feelings of safety and vulnerability, the fascia in the pelvis is particularly affected.

Other influences include physical shock, scarring, and lifestyle.

Tense fascia can lead to pain and numbness.

Pelvic Release relaxes the fascia in your pelvis. I apply gentle massage techniques, both internally and externally. I work directly on the skin and use natural massage oil. By applying pressure diagonally to the tissue or by staying in one spot for a longer period, hardening and tension melt away.

In the pelvis, I work gradually from less intimate to more intimate areas such as the vulva and vagina (Yoni in Sanskrit). Each step is only performed after an explicit “yes” to my request.

Clients experience the treatment as relaxing and “completely normal”.

Because a treatment in your pelvis is intimate and vulnerable, a session is primarily focused on creating safety.

In addition to a detailed explanation and intake, attention is paid to your nervous system (what can trigger you / what you need) based on the polyvagal theory .

We also practice according to the Wheel of Consent so that you can indicate with a clear ‘yes’ or ‘no’ what you want or don’t want. A ‘maybe’ for me is a ‘no’.

Because it is important that you can continue to feel, I monitor you throughout the session to ensure that you do not dissociate and I will bring you back if this does happen.
